Robert Hode Wakefield Court Rolls

Hode is written as ‘Hade’ in this case. Robert and Matilda Hode’s neighbour Thomas Alayn, had a corrody at Kirklees, which led David Hepworth to suggest that he is the ‘Thoms’ that appears on the grave slab drawn by Dr Johnston. This led to his belief that the Wakefield Robert Hode (above) promoted by Hunter and Walker, was possibly the Robard Hude buried with Thomas Alayn at Kirklees.*
