York – The assizes come to examine whether Alexander de Dorset, Alexander de Spineto, William Dussil unjustly and without judgment dissociated Thomas son of Nigel and Cecilia his wife from their free tenement in Northditton below the assize and Alexander de Dorset comes and says that he does not hold them he disseised, and does not cry anything in that tenement, but says that Mr. Eularia Trussebut, who has a third part of the forest of that town, gave him a mill for the rebuilding of the see church, which was burnt; and he himself drew the sea from them, but in no other way did he dissociate them. Alexander de Spineto also says that they are contained in their brief because they ought to have been dissociated from their freehold, and he does not cry out, nor can they cry out in that forest except for the common, and he asks that this be allotted to him. It was considered that, as in their brief there was mention of a free tenement, and they have nothing but a common there, they were complaining in mercy for a false claim, Thomas of Plegia for mercy: William the son of Thomas, Robert Camerius de Linton’
